Côme Laguë, owner and winemaker at La Mesa is pleased to share the news: "I am so thrilled to welcome Le Mulet Rouge and all their many fans. Amador County is a fabulous place to be. We've been eyeing a second location for several years now. This is one of the most prominent tasting room buildings in downtown. It's a fabulous, vibrant venue. Our customers will be delighted to enjoy tasting at this new location.
"For Le Mulet Rouge customers, if they haven't yet discovered our main tasting room in Shenandoah Valley, I think they will be exceptionally happy to make their first trip here. We pride ourselves on offering one of the best experiences in Amador County for wine, with our modern tasting room, bistro, outdoor terrace and stunning views on the vineyards. The main tasting room is located in Plymouth, about 25 minutes north of Sutter Creek."
Triad of Le Mulet Rouge owners Randy Hart, Tracy Hart and Jody Yehle are retiring from the wine industry. "We were happy to make this special arrangement with La Mesa so they can carry on with our wines and tradition. Our products will continue to be sold side-by-side with La Mesa wines at the tasting room. We are excited to see all our vintages stocked and available for as long as they can. We worked so hard to produce and bottle up these special wines, some as recently as a couple of months ago."
Le Mulet Rouge club members will continue with their pick-ups at the same location, with bottle discounts and membership benefits at both locations. La Mesa club members also get to enjoy their benefits at both locations. Details are forthcoming and will be communicated to members shortly.
As part of the change, La Mesa has arranged to hire Tamara Richards, who will continue to manage the Sutter Creek tasting room. Tamara is a hospitality veteran, having managed the tasting room since 2018. Customers can look forward to seeing Tamara. She will also serve as a point of contact for club member shipments and releases.
The community stands to benefit from its newest tenant as well. Côme comments: "Sutter Creek is a top-rated destination for tourists and locals alike. I can tell you, everyone at La Mesa is so incredibly excited to be expanding here. We're planning to be part of the fabric of this place and offer our direct support to the many events and activities that the community hosts every year. We appreciate that it takes a tremendous number of volunteers to run these events. We're very community-minded at La Mesa, and ready to take part."
La Mesa will open at the location in early June. Tasting Room hours will continue as Thursdays thru Mondays, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Reserve here
