La Mesa Vineyards just received two honorable mentions from Foothills Wino: Our "Top-rated Winery" rating as well as "top pick for eating at a winery in Amador" mention for the La Mesa Bistro.
Foothills Wino provides unbiased ratings that focus on three categories: wines, facilities and hospitality. Participating judges form a panel of wine and hospitality experts who are deeply familiar with the Sierra Foothills wine region and its 200 wineries. The Panel includes "Sommeliers who have passed either the Court of Master Sommeliers Level 2 (CMS2) exam or the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level 3 (WSET3) exam or have a similarly demonstrated wine tasting expertise." Articles written by Foothills Wino have appeared in Forbes and San Francisco Chronicle among others.
La Mesa scored an overall 9.17 out of 10 (with a "9" representing "Excellent" rating while a 9.5 representing an "Exceptional" rating). According to the panel, La Mesa wines are "Well-crafted wines from young vines, on the up-tick" with facilities offering "sleek and stylish new tasting room with vineyard view" and exceptional hospitality from "knowledgable and friendly staff, wonderful food and pairings."
