Gold Medal Winner at the 2023 Sierra Foothills Wine Competition. La Mesa’s Grenache Noir 2020, made from the premiere “Alban” Grenache clone, a rare clone typically associated with the Chateauneuf du Pape region in France, which grows exceptionally well at our high altitude. It makes a ruby red, lighter body wine with aromas of strawberry, cherry, pipe tobacco and fennel seed. The palate has mild tannins and a velvety feel, ample acidity and a lingering minerality on its lengthy finish. Pair with a wide variety of both lighter and rich hearty dishes – grilled salmon, game meat, spicy international dishes, cheese platters and grilled vegetables. 13.5% alcohol. 154 cases produced.
