Appellation:

Shenandoah Valley

Winemaker Notes:

One of the last grapes to be harvested in the fall, Oct 21, with an exceptionally long hang time to develop intense flavors. This wine was made 70% crush/ferment and 30% whole cluster fermentation occurring inside the grape adding to fruitiness. The clone is the French 470, extremely popular in France and widely planted in Hermitage. It is known for wines that are aromatic, full bodied, high acidity, deep color and good tannic structure.

Vineyard Notes:

From the Le Mulet Rouge vineyard at around 2400ft elevation, terraced east facing slope for gentle exposure to the morning sun, old vines, located just a few minutes from La Mesa in Fiddletown.
